Japanese automaker Mazda has been producing cars since January 1920 from its main headquarters in Fuchu, Japan. The name Mazda is derived from the ancient West Asian god Ahura Mazda, the god of intelligence, harmony and wisdom.
Mazda first started exporting its vehicles from the far east to the rest of the world in the 1970's and in 2007, the company had made close to 1.3 million vehicles for worldwide distribution.
The fastest Mazda currently on the market is the 256bhp Mazda 3 MPS with a 0-60mph time of 6.1 seconds and a top speed even faster than the RX8, at 155mph.
